Fill a form with fake test data in Chrome

Testing a sign-up page, a checkout or a long form means typing the same kind of details again and again. Fill with test data fills every visible field with realistic, made-up values in one click — free, with nothing sent anywhere.

Step by step

  1. Open the form to fill: your own sign-up page, a shop in test mode, or the LoopClicker test page.
  2. Click the LoopClicker toolbar button and press Fill with test data.
  3. Every visible field gets a value that fits it: first and last name, an e-mail at example.com, a phone number, a US street address, city, state and ZIP, a company, a date of birth and more.
  4. Check the form and submit it yourself, or press Fill with test data again for a different made-up person.
  5. To fill and send the form again and again, start from the "Fill a form with test data" template and pick the submit button.
  6. In your own scenarios, put {{fake.email}}, {{fake.firstName}} or another generator into a Type text or Fill form step to get a fresh value on every pass.

Want to try it first? The test page has buttons, a click area, a form and more to practise on — nothing on it is sent anywhere.

What goes into each field

LoopClicker works out what a field wants from its type, name, id, autocomplete hint, label and placeholder, and makes up one consistent US person per fill, so the e-mail matches the name:

Fields it cannot recognise are left as they are. It works with React and Vue forms, which ignore values set the simple way.

Placeholders in your own scenarios

In a Type text or Fill form step, write a generator in double braces — {{fake.firstName}}, {{fake.email}}, {{fake.zip}} — and each pass of the loop gets a new made-up person. They also work next to spreadsheet columns when a scenario runs once per CSV row (Pro).
